Robby McCrorie appears to be ready to give up on Rangers, after interest in the third-choice goalkeeper became apparent in the past few days.
Aberdeen are among those said to be chasing his signature, leading to a reunion with twin brother Ross, but the 24-year old finds himself in the same shoes as his brother.
He has bided his time at Ibrox, waited for the opportunity to step up, but it never arrived, and for right or wrong the young goalie may be on the move.
Sadly, if this is the case, there’s potential for Rangers’ goalkeeping situation to be well below par.
Only in recent days Ibrox Noise has been inundated with disagreement on our goalkeeping analysis from some fans who believe that area of the pitch is absolutely fine, but it’s entirely possible that over the next week, Rangers could be down to just Jon McLaughlin and no one else, with three stoppers potentially having left in the last month.
Obviously it’s equally possible that just Firth will have left, leaving us with the other three in their entirety, but all bets as to who is staying and who is going are off now.
If McCrorie isn’t to be first choice next season he’s unlikely to want to stay, because he’d just be wasting away some of the best years of his career.
His brother made the same decision, and what will be, will be.
