The latest Rangers stat paints a grim picture of the current state of Rangers Football Club, highlighting a historically poor run of home form that has seen the team go seven consecutive games at Ibrox without a single win – a club record for all the wrong reasons.
For a club of Rangers’ stature, with over 150 years of history, such a statistic is nothing short of disgraceful. Ibrox is supposed to be a fortress, a venue where opposing teams fear to tread, and where Rangers assert their dominance with pride and tradition. Instead, it’s become a playground for visiting sides to pick up results, leaving home fans frustrated, humiliated, and completely let down.
This historic low underlines just how far things have fallen in recent months. While the appointment of Barry Ferguson as manager was initially met with cautious optimism and nostalgia, the reality is setting in fast – sentiment doesn’t win matches. Rangers are faltering under the weight of expectation, and Ferguson now finds himself under real scrutiny to halt this alarming slide.
The home crowd has every right to be furious. Seven games without a win at Ibrox is not just unacceptable – it’s a complete abandonment of standards. The mentality is clearly broken, and too many players in this squad have checked out mentally, physically, or both. We’ve seen the likes of Clinton Nsiala and others brought in during the failed Clement era, and they’ve contributed absolutely nothing to the cause. There’s been no backbone, no urgency, and certainly no pride in pulling on the shirt.
Let’s be honest – this record isn’t just a bad run. It’s a disgrace. A black mark on the club’s legacy. It speaks volumes that in over a century and a half of existence, through wars, financial crises, relegation, and more, Rangers have never gone seven games without a home win – until now.
Fans deserve better. Much better. They pay their money, travel from all over, and devote their lives to supporting this club. And this is how they’re repaid? With listless displays, a complete lack of heart, and now, a place in the record books for all the wrong reasons?
It’s time for serious soul-searching at Ibrox. Players need to look in the mirror. Management must take responsibility. This run cannot be allowed to continue – or the damage to the club’s reputation may be irreversible.
