Respected Italian journalist Nicolò Schira has confirmed Rangers are trying to make a massive signing for left back, just days after Philippe Clement stated the club was not going to replace Ridvan Yilmaz.

The left back in question is an outstanding one, who vied with compatriot Borna Barisic some years ago for the left back position with the Croatian national team.

Domagoj Bradarić, only fairly recently a Lille regular who then moved to then-Serie A side Salernitana for around £5M is the man in question.

With 4 caps for the national side, Bradaric has had a tonne of promise and at 24, he’s a fantastic age but he wants top flight football which Salernitana cannot any longer offer him.

The current deal is for a loan with options or obligation to buy, and it would serve 100% as a top signing for Rangers much more along the lines of Cerny, Barron and Propper as opposed to Nsiala and Jefte.

Indeed the Brazilian isn’t deemed as anywhere near good enough to be first pick, and Rangers have decided that rather than rely on the mince in the squad, they will go out and get someone good. Ibrox Noise has followed Bradaric’s career and he’s impressive, very impressive, but has just fallen away a little since relegation to Serie B.

The Croat is deemed as being the man to replace the Turk.

Is he Marcelo? Not quite, but he’s a top player and needs a better level than a second division side despite it being a strong league in Italy.

This would be a very good addition, dare we say it this guy is better than Yilmaz, and this would hugely strengthen the side.

The question is can a deal be struck?

More as we get it.
