Rangers have agreed a deal in principle with US company 49ers Enterprises to take over the club.

It's been reported by Sky Sports that the Scottish Premiership side will now enter a period of due diligence, with legal paperwork being drafted to complete the deal.

The company are said to be aiming to purchase at least 51% of the club's shares, which would give them overall control of the business.

49ers Enterprises – who are the investment arm of the NFL franchise San Francisco 49ers – also own Leeds United in the Championship.
