Despite returning to full training this summer with Rangers, it looks like Jamie Murphy could be on his way out as Steven Gerrard has revealed he is ready to send the winger out on loan.
“He’s doing everything he can to get back to the level he was at before,” said Gerrard. “That’s the challenge for him. We need to help him find the best solution to get back to his peak, his A-game, as quickly as he can.”
Although he was featured in some preseason friendlies, after the arrivals of Jordan Jones, Sheyi Ojo, Jake Hastie and new boy Brandon Barker, the 29-year-old is now well down the pecking order.
“Murph is a unique situation because he’s missed a year of football,” added Gerrard. “He needs as much football as possible at a decent level to get himself back where he was. Then he can compete for a place here.”
