Claudio Ranieri has re-established the rule of the Olimpico.
Since he returned to the Giallorossi bench, Roma have won seven of their nine home games, with the only defeat coming against Atalanta in their debut and a draw against league leaders Napoli.
Even in the match against Porto, Roma initially struggled, going behind due to a defensive error, but in four minutes Dybala overturned the result with a spectacular brace, giving way to the victory and qualification for the Europa League round of 16.
As written by Corriere dello Sport, Ranieri once again proved to be lucid in his tactical choices. The last-minute absence of Dovbyk, stopped by an injury, did not affect the team.
Furthermore, he preferred not to field Hummels, a regular starter in the early days of his management but less brilliant lately.
Ranieri’s experience proves to be a decisive factor. With a top-level international career, the coach is demonstrating in his third Roman adventure that he knows how to combine balance and offensive spirit, proposing a compact and incisive team.
His charisma and his management are having a strong impact on the group, which follows him with conviction.
The fans support him with enthusiasm, appreciating his ability to enhance the potential of the team without upsetting its balance.
