RB Salzburg in talks to sign AS Monaco’s Eliot Matazo | OneFootball

According to Le Parisien, Red Bull Salzburg are in talks to sign AS Monaco midfielder Eliot Matazo (22), who is also attracting interest from Spanish and German sides.

Matazo, who has struggled to make the jump from the academy to the first-team at Monaco, spent the second half of last season on loan at Antwerp in Belgium. He returned to his parent club this summer, however, he is not guaranteed to remain there.

There have already been departues in Les Monégasques’ midfield this summer, and there could yet be more. Mohamed Camara has departed, as has Félix Lemarechal, who has joined RC Strasbourg Alsace. Youssouf Fofana is also nearing a move to AC Milan and Matazo could be the next one to depart.

Monaco and RB Salzburg are in talks over the midfielder’s transfer, whilst there is also interest, although nothing concrete, from teams in Spain and Germany. FC Nantes had also enquired about Matazo’s availablity but will not pursue a deal for the Belgium youth international.
