Earlier today, we reported that Sporting CP could be close to signing Roque in a deal worth in excess of €30 million, including variables.

However, La Liga club Real Betis are also in the picture for the 19-year-old talent’s signing.

Real Betis directors arrive in Barcelona

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, Real Betis sports director Manuel Fajardo, his assistant Joaquín Sánchez and Ramón Alarcón, the general manager of the club, have travelled to Barcelona from Seville to discuss Vitor Roque’s signing.

The teenage Brazilian attacker is said to be the ‘dream target’ to strengthen the roster for Betis manager Manuel Pellegrini.

As such, the Andalusian outfit are eager to close the youngster’s signing knowing that Sporting CP are also pushing hard to land him.

As per the report, the Real Betis officials are scheduled to meet Roque’s agent, Andre Cury, in Barcelona to try and engineer a transfer.

However, it has been suggested that Los Verdiblancos only want to sign the Brazilian on loan, which could be an issue as Barcelona want to offload him permanently.

The Catalans’ idea is to sell Roque and recoup the €30 million fee that they paid to Athletico Paranaense to sign him.

With Sporting CP willing to meet that figure, albeit including add-ons, Betis have their task cut out if they wish to beat the Portuguese giants to sign Roque from Barcelona.
