Real Betis are looking to offload some of their higher earners this summer in an effort to lower their wage bill. One such player who is up for sale is striker Borja Iglesias, who spent last season out on loan at German champions Bayer Leverkusen.
As per Marca, the club have placed a price tag of €8 million on their 31-year-old striker. Several clubs, such as Celta Vigo, Valencia and Rayo Vallecano are keeping tabs on Iglesias.
The 31-year-old played 10 games for Bayer Leverkusen last season, but failed to score a goal, in contrast to the German side’s dominant displays over the course of the campaign.
From the Celta Vigo camp, the Galician club intend to include Manu Sánchez in an offer for Borja Iglesias, with the young left-back being valued at €8 million on his own, as per Transfermarkt.
Any deal for the veteran striker will be done under the assumption that Borja Iglesias can return to the form he had a few seasons ago, as in the last couple of years he has struggled for both game time and goal contributions.
But with 51 goals across five seasons at Betis, many of the striker’s suitors will be hopeful that he can go through a resurgence and get back to his best.
