Ever since it became clear that Real Madrid would sign Kylian Mbappe, there have been constant speculations surrounding the future of Rodrygo Goes at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Now that the Frenchman has actually arrived at the club, the rumours appear to be growing in strength, especially with Manchester City showing interest in the Brazilian forward’s services.

It has been reported that Rodrygo will remain at Real Madrid for now but might consider his future next summer depending on how things go for him in the current season.

Rodrygo will not be at Real Madrid next year: journalist

However, journalist Ruben Uria (via ElDesmarque) has made a strong claim that Rodrygo will not be at Real Madrid next year.

This development comes after the Brazilian’s controversial message on his Whatsapp channel wherein he lashed out at those hyping up the ‘BMV’ trio of Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Jr., claiming that they are forgetting the ‘R’ of Rodrygo.

Even before that, earlier in the summer, the Brazilian had made comments regarding his future stating that things might change, although his entourage remarked that the 23-year-old’s words had been misquoted.

Ruben Uria claims that while Rodrygo himself does not want to leave Real Madrid, his entourage are leaving the doors open for an exit next year and the player himself might change his stance if he loses prominence and falls under the shadows of ‘BMV’.

“Rodrygo has no desire to leave Madrid, but the people who manage him do. And those people have to leave the door open because they know it’s going to be a difficult year in sporting terms. Next year he’s leaving Madrid,” explained Ruben Uria.

“Call it what you want, but Rodrygo will not be at Madrid next year. In football terms, he has every reason to play because he has quality. But for him, the recognition is important. For Rodrygo, it’s a blow to be taken out of the BMV,” he added.

Rodrygo signed a new contract with Real Madrid last year which runs until 2028. The 23-year-old remains highly regarded by manager Carlo Ancelotti and the club management.

While his departure for this summer is ruled out, whether that changes next year remains to be seen.
