Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are preparing for a transfer showdown in the summer of 2025, with both clubs targeting some of Europe’s top talents.

While these two football giants are renowned for their on-field performances, their off-field ambitions are now aligning as they set their sights on a number of key players, reports AS.

The standout name on their radar is Florian Wirtz. The German international is expected to leave Leverkusen in the summer and Real Madrid, with Luka Modric likely to depart by then, view him as the perfect replacement.

However, Bayern Munich are also keen on securing his services, recognising him as a potential leader for Germany’s future. The competition between these two clubs for Wirtz’s signature will be fierce.

A Bayern Munich trio

In addition to Wirtz, both teams are fighting over three players. Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, and Jamal Musiala, all key figures at Bayern, are also on Real Madrid’s list.

Of the three, Davies appears to be the player that Madrid are closest to signing. His contract expires in 2025, and reports suggest that the Canadian full-back is eager to join the Spanish club.

Kimmich is another player whose contract is set to expire next summer. While Bayern is negotiating a renewal, the talks are at an impasse, and the midfielder is reportedly dissatisfied with the current situation.

Should Kimmich leave Bayern for free, Real Madrid will be well-positioned to make a move, as they have been seeking a reliable defensive midfielder since Toni Kroos’ departure.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are prioritising Musiala as the cornerstone of their future. The 21-year-old forward, under contract until 2026, is set to receive a new offer worth €20 million per season. If he refuses to extend his stay, Real Madrid could enter the race to sign him.

Then there is Jonathan Tah

The transfer market battle does not stop there, as both clubs are eyeing another Bayer Leverkusen player, Jonathan Tah.

With Eder Militao’s recent knee injury raising concerns at Real Madrid, the club is exploring options for a new centre-back. Tah, whose contract is also expiring, is a strong candidate due to his experience and suitability for Madrid’s defensive needs.

As we approach the summer of 2025, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are set to compete not only on the pitch but also in the transfer market, both aiming to secure some of Europe’s top talents.
