In a recent report, Sport mentioned that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on Argentinos Juniors starlet Federico Redondo. It has been claimed that Los Blancos are monitoring the progress of the Argentine youngster but could face competition from Inter Miami, Barcelona and AC Milan in the race to land him.
Redondo has caught the eye with his performances at the centre of Argentinos Juniors’ midfield. The Argentine sensation has already made 58 appearances for them so far, finding the back of the net on two occasions and earning a couple of assists in all competitions.
The 21-year-old has come through the youth ranks of the Argentine club and is currently amongst the best young midfielders in Argentine football. Hence, he would be a great, long-term signing for Los Blancos if Carlo Ancelotti can devise a way to win the race for his services this January or at the end of this campaign.
His current contract at Argentinos Juniors will run out at the end of this year which could open the door for the Madrid giants to sign him on the cheap soon.

Redondo is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his team in the middle of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a good passer of the ball as well. The Argentine whizkid can chip in by scoring and creating some important goals for his side. He mainly functions as a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder if needed.
However, Redondo is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth as a consistent midfielder in top-flight football. Still, there is no denying that he is a prospect to watch out for in the future.
At 21, Redondo has the potential to become a success story at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the long run. Therefore, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti would be wise to engineer a move to bring him to the Spanish capital this winter or at the end of this campaign.
