Real Madrid concerned about the dip in form and confidence of midfield youngster

This hasn’t been a good season for Eduardo Camavinga. Once regarded as one of France’s next big midfield prodigy, the former Rennes starlet has done well at Real Madrid for the most part, but his form and importance in the team has taken a huge hit this term.
A mix of injuries and inconsistency has disrupted the 22-year-old’s campaign, preventing him from replicating his past influence in Madrid’s midfield.
Camavinga has suffered three notable injuries this season, including knee and muscle problems, missing a total of 19 matches. This lack of continuity has impacted his rhythm, eroding his confidence in key moments.
A recent report from Jorge Picon (h/t RM4Arab) has given a comprehensive overview on Camavinga’s current status at Real Madrid, pointing out how his drop in confidence has become a cause for concern at the club.
Carlo Ancelotti remains one of his biggest backers but has shown visible frustration on the touchline when Camavinga makes careless mistakes.

The Italian tactician understands the midfielder’s struggles but also knows that Madrid’s demanding environment leaves little room for error.
What makes things even trickier for Camavinga is that others have stepped up as soon as he has dropped form this season.
Aurelien Tchouameni, for one, appears to have established himself in midfield now, whereas Luka Modric has once again become a vital cog for Real Madrid.
The report, in fact, adds that Modric will start ahead of Camavinga in the second leg tie against Atletico Madrid.
Dani Ceballos, too, deserves credit for his redemption story this year and is a key reason why Camavinga hasn’t enjoyed much prominence in the team this season.
With a lack of fitness, form and confidence severely impacting Camavinga’s status at Real Madrid, the coming few months could be a litmus test for the midfielder.
During this period, the Frenchman must step up his game at all costs and cannot afford to once again make silly errors on the pitch.
It is no secret that Camavinga has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu. And should his current struggles continue, it won’t be surprising to see the Frenchman settling for a move elsewhere this coming summer.
