Real Madrid continued their recovery in the Champions League, securing a comprehensive 5-1 win over RB Salzburg on Wednesday.
A key highlights on the night saw David Alaba appear as a substitute around the hour mark and shepard the Real Madrid defence.
This was Real Madrid’s second appearance in all competitions since returning from a long injury layoff.
As reported by AS, Real Madrid are extremely delighted with the fact that Alaba is back to full fitness and is now able to play football again.
This is especially relevant considering the fact that Alaba’s return has now allowed Los Blancos to shuffle a bit more, as far as the defensive unit is concerned.

Indeed, coach Carlo Ancelotti is now finally able to rest his top defensive player Antonio Rudiger, who has been an ever-present figure in the Real Madrid starting eleven in the wake of current injury scene.
Given the German’s challenges with fitness, playing him constantly always carried an acute risk of injuries.
But now with Alaba back in the fold, Real Madrid can finally juggle their ranks and use the Austrian international as an ideal alternative to Rudiger.
At the same time, though, the reigning European champions will be cautious about starting the veteran defender, considering the fact that he is coming back after a long injury layoff.
But Alaba’s mere presence in the dressing room could go a long way in fixing Real Madrid’s defensive woes as we brace ourselves for a crucial part of the campaign.
