Real Madrid continued their preparations for Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League knockout playoff second-leg tie against Manchester City today at the Valdebebas training facility.
As reported earlier, the Spanish capital giants welcomed Antonio Rudiger back in training after the German international had been absent for a few games this month due to injury.
Rudiger’s return, coupled with David Alaba also resuming training on Sunday, came as a boost for the reigning champions of Spain and Europe.
However, as per MARCA, two Real Madrid stars – Federico Valverde and Jesus Vallejo – did not train with the rest of the group today and did some work indoors due to some discomfort.
As per the report, Valverde, who is an integral part of Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, picked up some minor discomfort during Saturday’s La Liga clash against Osasuna, forcing him to miss the group training today.

However, the Uruguayan international is expected to train normally tomorrow and be available to face Manchester City in the crunch tie.
As for Vallejo, the defender is said to be dealing with some muscular discomfort which could lead to him being left out of the squad list to face the Premier League champions on Wednesday.
However, the Spanish centre-back is no longer a part of Ancelotti’s plans at the club, with his contract expiring at the end of the current season. As such, his potential absence will not be a major concern for Los Blancos.
What appears to be set in stone is that Lucas Vazquez will miss the game having not recovered from his injury and having not trained at all on Sunday or today. Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao are also ruled out.
