Widespread sections of the Real Madrid fanbase have this evening called for manager Carlo Ancelotti to be dismissed with immediate effect.

This comes owing to developments in the club’s latest outing.

Real Madrid marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to north London for a Champions League quarter-final meeting with Arsenal.

Los Blancos headed into the matchup desperate for a bounce-back result, after seeing their La Liga title hopes dealt a heavy blow at the hands of Valencia at the weekend.

To say that the necessary performance for as much was not forthcoming, though, would be an understatement.

Real Madrid found themselves completely dominated at The Emirates, culminating in an embarrassing eventual 3-0 defeat.

Such a result means that the reigning tournament holders now face a monumental task in turning things around to march on to a semi-final berth.

And the finger of blame for Los Blancos’ woes has since been pointed squarely at one individual: Carlo Ancelotti.

Amid the widespread agreement that the Italian got his tactics and substitutions completely wrong at The Emirates, for what is far from the first time this season, calls have begun to mount for Ancelotti to be immediately sacked by Florentino Pérez.
