The home fans in attendance at Real Madrid’s La Liga meeting with Espanyol on Saturday made use of the opportunity to send a crystal clear message to the powers that be in Spanish football.

Los Blancos are of course currently locked in action.

Amid ongoing efforts to hunt down arch rivals Barcelona atop the La Liga table, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops have welcomed the aforementioned Espanyol to the Santiago Bernabéu.

As things stand, the two sides find themselves deadlocked, at 0-0.

As alluded to above, though, during the first-half of action in Madrid, it was matters away from the pitch which took their place front and centre in the headlines.
