Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe received a red card for a strong tackle on Antonio Blanco during Real Madrid’s 2-1 win against Alaves.

While it was a moment of self-reflection for the player, he wasted no time in seeking to make amends.

AS confirms that the French forward went straight to the Alaves locker room after the match and personally apologized to Blanco.

Interestingly, that was certainly not it. The former PSG forward also expressed his regrets to his Real Madrid teammates for leaving them a man short.

Fortunately, even Alaves received a red card 70 minutes into the game, with Manu Sanchez receiving his marching orders.

Mbappe regrets his action

It is said that Mbappe was extremely upset with himself for his lapse in discipline. The red card was a moment of frustration for the forward, especially because it was his first red since 2019.

Good thing for Real Madrid that the situation may not prove as costly as it initially seemed.

This is because Mbappe faces a maximum of three-match ban for the tackle, but everything points to the fact that the punishment could be of two matches.

Furthermore, this penalty will not rule him out of the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, which comes as a relief for both the player and the club.

All is well between Mbappe and Blanco

On the other hand Blanco has graciously accepted Mbappe’s apology. Speaking after the match, the Alaves midfielder explained that there are no hard feelings between the two players.

“It was a strong tackle. I spoke with Kylian, he apologized and there is no problem. these are actions that can happen in football,” Blanco remarked.

Ultimately, his calm and understanding persona allowed the Real Madrid forward to begin the process of redemption and repair the damage after a challenging moment in the match.
