Real Madrid lined up their new-look front three against Atalanta and RCD Mallorca with Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes (and Jude Bellingham in behind them). It looks as if at least to begin with, they will be Carlo Ancelotti’s preferences.

Despite their struggles against Mallorca, Brahim Diaz saw just 12 minutes of game time, and Arda Guler was used sparingly too. Real Madrid’s other new signing this summer though, Endrick Felipe, did not get on the pitch at all.

The 18-year-old signed from Palmeiras this summer for €40m plus €20m in variables, but is on the outside looking in for minutes this season. The young Brazilian was keen to take his opportunity at Real Madrid at the start of the season, but Diario AS say that Endrick will consider leaving the club in January if he is not getting sufficient game time.

Similar happened to Arda Guler last season, albeit due to injury initially, but in Endrick’s case, he is keen not to stall his progression. Part of the reason also relates to the Brazilian national team – he has become a fixture for the Selecao over the past year, but if he were to stop playing regularly, also risks dropping out of the squad, with the World Cup now less than two years away.
