The longest transfer saga of the January transfer window seems to have drawn to a conclusion. It appears Real Madrid target Alphonso Davies will remain a Bayern Munich player beyond this season.
As per Relevo, Real Madrid have seemingly given up on signing the Canadian star now that Bayern Munich have raised their contract offer for their left-back.
Reports indicate that Real Madrid are not interested in entering a bidding war with the German outfit, so would rather pull out of any pursuit for the 24-year-old entirely.
Bayern Munich’s persistent efforts to hold onto one of their brightest young stars seem to be paying off finally, and now it appears that a renewal being agreed upon is only a matter of time.
Real Madrid will likely now turn their attention to Girona star Miguel Gutiérrez to improve their left-back position, with the 23-year-old having been touted as a back-up option should the deal for Davies fall through.
The alternative option is that Los Blancos continue to persist with Ferland Mendy and Fran García who have had some good performances between them this campaign.
