The future of Nico Paz has become the hot topic in Europe lately following his blazing performances in Serie A.

Formerly of the Real Madrid youth academy, Paz has performed brilliantly since joining Como last summer. The youngster has been involved in ten goals in just 23 competitive matches – making him one of the rising stars in Serie A.

As pointed out by Real Madrid Confidencial, Paz’s performances have not gone unnoticed either, with the likes of Arsenal and Inter Milan keen on his services.

Real Madrid have a huge advantage

However, even though Nico Paz is not a Real Madrid player anymore, the reigning European champions have a huge advantage in the race to sign the Argentine.

Real Madrid have three separate buyback clauses which will allow them to re-sign the former youth player on a cut price deal.

The first one can be activated in the summer of 2025, when Real Madrid can re-sign the player for just €8 million.

The second clause will see the buyback clause go up to €9 million in the summer of 2026 while the third one is valued at €10 million, applicable in 2027.

These three separate buyback clauses mean Real Madrid will always have the first say whenever Paz is being linked with a move away from Como.

The Italian outfit, on their part, do not have much control over the transfer saga unless they somehow manage to convince the player to remain at the club beyond 2027.

As for Real Madrid, the Spanish giants were not planning to re-sign Paz so soon after his move to Como. But given the circumstances and evolving interest from top clubs across Europe, the club could be tempted to buy the player back on a cut price deal.

The club can then make a quick profit by immediately selling the player or better yet, retain him as part of the team next season.
