With the signing of Kylian Mbappe completed, Real Madrid are now completely focused on the capture of his compatriot Leny Yoro from LOSC Lille.

The 18-year-old is Los Blancos’ top target to fortify the centre-back position following the exit of former captain Nacho Fernandez.

The player, for his part, is intent on making the move to the Santiago Bernabeu but Lille’s asking price was proving to be a major issue.

But, reports over the weekend suggested that the Ligue 1 outfit are now considering lowering their demands for the defender, paving the way for a transfer.

Real Madrid hope to announce deal in over a week

Now, journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon (h/t RM4Arab) reports that Real Madrid are hopeful of completing the deal to sign Leny Yoro from Lille and announce it by July 16.

Negotiations are said to be underway between the two clubs and Los Blancos are very optimistic about securing the 18-year-old’s services.

With Lille now ready to play ball over the asking price, there is hope that the operation can be closed at the earliest possible.

Real Madrid are scheduled to begin pre-season on July 15 and having Yoro available as soon as possible would give him an opportunity to get used to his new team and teammates before the season kicks off.

Considering that Yoro will not be a part of the France Olympics squad, the 18-year-old will be at Carlo Ancelotti’s disposal for the entire pre-season campaign, if the deal goes ahead as planned.

It is now up to the two clubs to iron out the details and reach an agreement soon, with the player already understood to be onboard.
