Former Real Madrid midfielder Guti believes that the club should seriously consider re-signing Sergio Ramos, who could be a quick and effective solution to their current defensive needs.
With Ramos available as a free agent, Guti feels he offers experience, reliability, and familiarity that few other defenders could match at this moment.
This advice comes as Real Madrid are weighing its options, with two main paths ahead: they could bring in a free agent like Ramos immediately, or hold off until January to pursue a younger, long-term signing.
Real Madrid’s dilemma stems from the limited availability of top-quality defenders in the current market. With injuries and other factors impacting their defensive line, signing an experienced player could offer stability in a critical area.
The problem, however, is that while Ramos is the only free agent with the level of experience and familiarity Real Madrid could use, his return to the club faces serious obstacles.
Relations between Ramos and club president Florentino Perez have been strained, and the leadership at Real Madrid seems to view Ramos’ chapter at the club as firmly closed.

In Guti’s opinion, Ramos’ return would be a more practical choice than signing a temporary solution of unknown quality.
Ramos’ experience, fitness, and commitment to Real Madrid’s standards make him a valuable short-term asset, capable of covering the team’s defensive needs for at least six months.
“You have to go to the market… and Sergio Ramos is without a team. Right back and centre-back, at zero cost. I see it clearly,” he said as quoted by AS.
Guti argues that the club should focus on solving its immediate needs by signing a familiar face who understands the demands and pressures of playing for Real Madrid.
“If you want to go to the market and sign a centre-back for the next ten years, paying a lot of money, fine. But to end up bringing in a patch, someone who you don’t know how he’s going to turn out, I prefer Sergio Ramos.
A man who has been in the house, who was active last year, who continues to take care of himself and who can complete these six months,” he noted.
The question remains whether Real Madrid’s management will act on this advice.
Although the idea of reuniting with Ramos might appeal to fans who remember his loyalty and impact, the club’s long-term vision may ultimately steer them towards a younger player with greater potential for future seasons.
