Real Madrid have been recently dealt yet another blow as star player Lucas Vazquez has picked up a fresh injury.
The Spaniard has a muscle injury, which could sideline him for a period of up to three weeks, meaning he is set to miss both the legs against Manchester City in the Champions League.
This could prove to be a major headache for coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is devoid of a natural right-back in the team, with Dani Carvajal also out with a long-term injury.
Ancelotti, though, has dealt with these injuries in the past by training some of his midfielders in defensive roles.
The likes of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga are excellent case in points. However, in this case, neither of the two midfielders are capable of operating at right-back.

This is where Federico Valverde comes into the fray. According to Miguel Angel Diaz, Ancelotti is likely to place his bet on Valverde against Man City, as far as the right-back position is concerned.
The Uruguayan international has recently played in the right-back position against Leganes. He also played in that position in the win over RB Salzburg in the Champions League.
Needless to say, Valverde did not disappoint at all, which only strengthens his case for starting in the right-back position against Manchester City.
The midfielder’s discipline and aggression could prove to be useful for Real Madrid as they look to keep the Man City attack shut.
That said, Ancelotti does have other alternatives, including many options from the RM Castilla squad or even Raul Asencio, who was being trained in the right-back position.
