Real Madrid are reportedly willing to facilitate David Alaba’s transfer in the summer transfer window, setting an affordable price of between €5 million and €6 million, according to Fichajes.

With the Austrian defender entering the final year of his contract in 2025, the club appears open to moving him on, particularly if a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia arrives.

Alaba’s future hangs in the balance

Despite having a contract until 2026, Alaba’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu remains uncertain.

While Real Madrid are not actively pushing him out, the board would not oppose his departure, especially considering his €23 million gross salary per year.

Offloading him would free up significant financial resources, allowing the club to invest in younger defensive reinforcements.

The major concern surrounding Alaba is his fitness and form. After suffering a long-term injury, the 32-year-old has struggled to regain his best level, raising doubts over whether he can return to his peak.

The coaching staff remains hopeful, but with age and increased competition in the squad, his role has diminished significantly.

Increased competition in defence

Real Madrid’s defensive landscape has changed in recent seasons. Antonio Rudiger is now the team’s defensive leader and Raul Asencio has emerged as a reliable option, making it difficult for Alaba to reclaim a starting role.

Given these circumstances, the Austrian may find himself on the fringes if he chooses to stay. Above all, Real Madrid are also considering defensive reinforcement with Dean Huijsen on top of their agenda.

Meanwhile, Saudi clubs have shown strong interest in signing Alaba, and given Madrid’s stance, a move this summer seems increasingly plausible.

If an offer arrives that aligns with Alaba’s expectations, Real Madrid will not stand in his way. The summer transfer window could be the decisive moment for both the player and the club.
