Many took Kylian Mbappe’s adaptation to life at Real Madrid for granted. As one of the best players on the planet with an unreal ceiling, a change in scenery was not expected to take a big toll on his quality.

The Frenchman, however, has struggled since moving to Real Madrid and is now sinking both in terms of mental resilience and output on the field.

Los Blancos’ clash against Liverpool may well be his worst-ever showing in the white jersey as he failed to convert a penalty and looked lost on the field for the entire 90 minutes.

Ancelotti is in control

As relayed by MARCA in a recent update, Carlo Ancelotti is confident that he can help and turn around Mbappe’s situation.

After all, it is not the first time that he is facing such circumstances. Over his long and successful managerial career, he has dealt with umpteen players who struggled with handling the pressure and expectations in the past.

The Spanish outlet takes three particular examples to forward the manager’s prowess in dealing with underconfident players: Hernan Cresp at AC Milan, Shevchenko with AC Milan and Alessandro del Piero at Juventus, all of whom he helped find their footing.

Helping Mbappe recover his best version is currently the priority in Madrid and everyone at the club is transmitting positivity to the player and maintaining confidence in him through his dry spell.

He will thus continue as a starter under the manager and will be shown faith until he comes good, for the club are confident that it is just a matter of time before he steps up.

Further, reports yesterday suggested that the club is bringing in the legendary Zinedine Zidane to help talk Mbappe through his hiccup, for it was the former manager who helped Karim Benzema get through a similar situation in his first season at the club.
