Real Madrid set sights on €40m-rated La Liga star for defensive reinforcement

As revealed by Fichajes, Real Madrid are turning their attention to Dani Vivian of Athletic Club in their pursuit of a new centre-back.
At 25 years old, Vivian has emerged as a reliable and well-rounded defender in La Liga, and the interest from the Spanish giants comes as part of their ongoing transition.
With Jesus Vallejo expected to leave at the end of the season and David Alaba’s future clouded by recurring injury problems and fluctuating form, the club’s sporting management is proactively searching for long-term stability in defence.
While Antonio Rudiger and Raul Asencio have become a cornerstone of the Madrid defence, the former has offers from Saudi Arabia and is on the wrong side of 30.
This is why there is a growing need to bring in fresh talent capable of sharing the load and eventually taking over leadership at the back.
As such, Vivian ticks many of the boxes that Real Madrid are looking for. A Spanish international, he has already established himself as one of the most consistent defenders in La Liga.

His presence in Athletic Club’s starting XI has been steady, and his performances have earned him growing recognition at the national level.
With a contract running until 2032 and a market valuation around €40 million, Vivian is by no means a cheap option, but his profile aligns with Madrid’s philosophy.
Interestingly, Real Madrid are impressed with Vivian’s tactical understanding, aerial strength, and composed style on the ball, something that could make him a valuable addition.
While not the flashiest name on the shortlist, the 25-year-old appeals to Madrid’s technical staff precisely because of his consistency and tactical discipline.
Unlike other more high-profile targets who may demand larger transfer fees or pose greater adaptation risks, Vivian’s experience in La Liga makes him a low-risk, medium-term investment.
