Real Madrid are reportedly willing to include Toni Kroos as a makeweight in a proposed deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.
The Spanish giants were heavily linked with a move for Pogba throughout the summer, though a move failed to materialise with a deal unable to be agreed.
Zinedine Zidane’s side retain an interest in bringing the 26-year-old to Spain, as Real bid to bolster their midfield options following an indifferent start to the new season.
Pogba indicated this summer that he was prepared to leave Manchester United after three seasons at Old Trafford and is also said to remain keen on a move to Spain.
According to FourFourTwo, Real could reignite their interest in Pogba in January and believe the inclusion of Kroos as part of the deal could help seal a breakthrough in negotiations.
United are currently lacking in midfield depth and are reluctant to allow Pogba to leave, though having previously attempted to bring Kroos to the Premier League could be open to a potential swap-deal.
Kroos moved to the Bernabeu from Bayern Munich five seasons ago and has made 237 appearances for the club, winning one La Liga title and three successive Champions Leagues between 2016 and 2018.
