Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal has this week provided an insight into his hopes of returning to competitive action.

Full-back Carvajal has for his part of course been out of action for the last five months.

This comes after the Spanish international was stretchered out of a 2-0 La Liga victory over Villarreal, with what was later confirmed to be a torn ACL.

Now 33, some had questioned whether the severity of Carvajal’s injury could prove to be career-threatening.

Safe to say, however, that the stopper has no intention of hanging up his boots any time soon…

Stopped by the media for a brief exchange whilst in his car on Tuesday, Carvajal was asked for an update on his recovery efforts.

And the Real Madrid stalwart went on to confirm his hopes of regaining match fitness by late May:

“The challenge is to return by the end of May.”
