One year ago, Endrick and Vitor Roque were seen as the future of Real Madrid and Barcelona respectively.
The two Brazilian pearls represented the best talent coming from the South American nation and were seen as the two best forwards transitioning to European football.
Now, however, the hype appears to have been too good to be true as neither player has broken into the clubs they were expected to leave a mark at.
Roque’s journey at Barcelona has already come to a temporary halt while Endrick is not doing much better at Real Madrid either.
Roque arrived at Barcelona without being a part of Xavi Hernandez’s plans and his lack of opportunities forced him out of the club.
He is currently on loan at Real Betis and is doing well, but it is unclear if he will have a second chance with the Blaugrana.

Endrick, meanwhile, arrived in Madrid this past summer and his situation is not going much better. He is far from the prominence he would have liked under Carlo Ancelotti and MARCA relay that he fears falling into the same trap Roque fell into.
The Spanish outlet further relay that the player is calm and aware of his situation. He is working hard and giving his 100% in training, hoping for the day when he gets a chance to prove his worth.
The biggest hurdle in Endrick’s path is seemingly the manager who does not have any personal agenda against him but hesitates from playing youngsters in general.
To break through the trap, he knows he must shut out the noise and stay focused and that is precisely what he is doing.
It remains to be seen if Endrick’s fortunes change in the coming months, especially with the schedule set to get more gruelling for the players. With Kylian Mbappe struggling to fit in as the number 9, moreover, there is a real case building for Endrick’s return to the dynamics.
