Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos has issued a blunt response to Atlético head coach Diego Simeone, over the Argentine’s post-match comments on Wednesday.
Simeone, for his part, was not shy in making his feelings known, on the back of his side’s elimination from the Champions League last night.
After Julián Alvarez’s disallowed spot-kick culminated in Real Madrid triumphing from the penalty shootout between the sides, Atléti’s headmaster vented during his ensuing press conference:
“To anyone here: raise your hand if you saw that Julián touched the ball twice in the penalty. Come on! And? Ready? Nobody raises theirs. Another question. I’ve never seen VAR called to review a penalty in a shootout.”
Such comments have since given rise to widespread debate amongst fans, many of whom are adamant that the right call was in fact made on the night.
And one individual who evidently shares such an opinion is Real Madrid star Dani Ceballos.
Taking to social media to respond to Simeone calling for those who saw Alvarez’s two touches to ‘raise their hand’, midfielder Ceballos simply posted a hand emoji:
