Real Madrid starlet Arda Güler has this week come in for some fresh praise, on the part of a leading member of the midfield ranks at the club.

Real, of course, are fresh off kicking the new campaign into gear in style on Wednesday night.

Making the trip to Poland for a UEFA Super Cup showdown with Serie A outfit Atalanta, Carlo Ancelotti’s troops battled their way to a 2-0 triumph, courtesy of goals on the part of Federico Valverde, and summer signing Kylian Mbappé.

Los Blancos’ star performer on the night was Jude Bellingham, whose brilliance throughout proceedings saw the Englishman rewarded by way of the Man of the Match award.

Speaking to the media post-match, though, Bellingham was nevertheless keen to reveal his appreciation for another less-heralded member of the Spanish champions’ squad.

The player in question? Arda Güler.

During an exchange with the media in Warsaw, the 21-year-old hailed his teenage teammate, explaining:

“I love Arda Güler very much, everyone here loves him very much and he deserves it.”
