With Real Madrid struggling to fit in all the pieces in their star-studded attacking unit this season, they have been offered a solution by former Arsenal and England star Theo Walcott.
Indeed, the ex-Premier League star has put forth the name of Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak as a player who could be the ideal fit at the Santiago Bernabeu and help add balance to the team.
Walcott’s advice comes amidst Real Madrid’s struggles to extract the best out of superstar signing Kylian Mbappe in the No. 9 role.
In fact, reports have suggested that the 25-year-old is even growing ‘fed up’ of playing as a centre-forward.
“Isak is the kind of player Arsenal really need, but you could say everyone needs a player like him in their team at the moment, even Liverpool,” started off Walcott on BBC, as quoted by AS.
“Look at Real Madrid’s line-up at the moment. They go for these galacticos and they buy these incredible talents, but sometimes they put them in positions where they can’t do well,” he remarked, citing the issues with Mbappe.

Then shedding light on how Isak could be the solution, Walcott added: “If you put Isak in that Real Madrid team, he moulds them in a different way. His ability to play in different positions and in all front-line roles makes him a constant threat.
“With Isak, Madrid would become a balanced team. He’s the closest thing we’ve seen to Thierry Henry.”
Isak, at the age of 25, is going through a good moment with Newcastle United this season. The Swede has four goals and two assists in nine Premier League games so far and has looked good in attack.
There had been talk of a possible exit for Isak last summer with the Magpies needing to balance their books but nothing came of it. A big move, however, could be around the corner for the former Real Sociedad star, although it is unlikely that he would be moving to Madrid.
