Dani Carvajal is one of the few Real Madrid players spending a long injury layoff, as the veteran defender is currently nursing an ACL injury.
The right-back had picked up the ACL knock earlier in the season and was subsequently ruled out for the entire season.
Recent reports have indicated that Carvajal is gradually making his recovery and has already returned to Valdebebas, roughly two months after his knock.
A recent report from MARCA has offered an update on Carvajal’s situation, acknowledging that the veteran defender is indeed continuing his recovery with gradual pace.
However, despite this gradual recovery, Carvajal is unlikely to return to action anytime soon. In fact, it is unlikely the defender would return to action before the end of the season.

This serves as a major blow for Real Madrid, who are desperately looking for options in the defensive unit.
In recent weeks, Carlo Ancelotti has been forced to deploy Aurelien Tchouameni at centre-back, though the likely return of David Alaba could improve things.
The Austrian is reportedly set to return to group training and may even return to the pitch after the end of the Spanish Super Cup in January.
While Alaba’s eventual return to full fitness could take some more time, it could be a start, as far as Real Madrid are concerned.
As for Carvajal, the veteran Spaniard may not return to action this season. But his presence in the dressing room could go a long way in improving the morale in the Real Madrid camp.
