Paris Saint-Germain expressed interest in Dean Huijsen last summer as part of their defensive overhaul, but the Spanish center-back ultimately signed with AFC Bournemouth. If PSG make another attempt, they’ll face stiff competition.

Even after signing Willian Pacho, PSG may still be looking for another center-back, particularly with Milan Skriniar expected to leave permanently this summer.

According to CaughtOffside, top clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and PSG are all monitoring the 19-year-old closely.

Huijsen has impressed in the Premier League, quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s brightest young defenders. Should PSG renew their interest, they’ll face a crowded market and likely a hefty price tag.

TEAMtalk reports that Liverpool holds Huijsen in such high regard that they see him as a potential future leader and the ideal successor to Virgil van Dijk. As for the cost, Huijsen has a £50 million release clause in his Bournemouth contract.

Fichajes reports that Real Madrid is planning a strategic move in the upcoming summer transfer window: offloading David Alaba to free up wages and generate funds for the potential signing of Dean Huijsen.

The Spanish giants reportedly recognize the need to refresh its defense and see the Bournemouth player as a promising future prospect. However, his hefty buyout clause means that a move for Alaba is necessary beforehand.

Alaba, 32, has been a key figure at Real Madrid since joining in 2021. However, ongoing injury issues and his substantial salary push him toward the exit, per Fichajes. His wage, one of the highest in the squad at over €20 million per season, is unsustainable for the club if they aim to make significant signings in the transfer market.
