Kylian Mbappé’s highly anticipated free transfer to Real Madrid this summer hasn’t gone as smoothly as expected. There are moments of brilliance, but then there are times he struggles.

After a complicated end to his adventure in Paris, mainly his exclusion in July 2023, as well as his tensions with Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and the conflict over a €55 million bonus, the French striker wanted to set the record straight during his appearance on the beIN United show, where he had to answer questions from young people with disabilities.

Not forgetting to remind everyone that he remains a supporter of the Parisian club, the captain of the French national team discussed his great years at PSG.

“I spent seven years at PSG, it was an honor,” Kylian Mbappé recalled on beIN Sports (h/t RMC Sport). “I think maybe I haven’t said it enough, or shown it enough, but I’ve always been aware of where I was and the great club that PSG is.

“I’ve always said that it was the biggest club in France and one of the best in the world. I just left to go to the biggest club in the world “I’ve always said that it was the only club for which I would have left PSG.

“If I hadn’t been able to go to Real, I would have stayed at PSG for my whole life. I had this dream of playing there, and I’m very happy about it. But of course, I still watch PSG’s matches, I have friends in the team, and they’re playing well right now.”

In an interview with Clique, Mbappé also shared that he would have stayed at Paris Saint-Germain for his younger brother, Ethan. He explained that playing for PSG was Ethan’s dream, and for that reason, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner was ready to sacrifice his ambitions to support his brother’s aspirations.

“It happened, and it’s what impacted me the most,” Mbappé said. “For him, PSG was his Real Madrid, and in a way, I took that away from him. He told me he didn’t want to stay, that what they were doing to me wasn’t right. I said to him, ‘If you want to stay, I’ll renew my contract, and we’ll stay together for a while.’

“I would’ve given up my dream of Madrid for him. Ethan is my brother, and what’s the point of joining the best club in the world if it means ruining your brother’s career?”
