La Liga outfit Real Sociedad have on Friday announced a fresh personnel blow in the club’s first-team ranks.
This comes amid confirmation that attacker Orri Óskarsson has suffered a calf injury.
Óskarsson, for his part, spent the last week away on international duty, with his native Iceland.
After finding the net en route to a 2-0 downing of Montenegro late last week, the 20-year-old was then in from the off once more on Tuesday, in a trip to Cardiff to face Wales.
On the way to an eventual 4-1 defeat, however, Óskarsson pulled up prematurely, before being forced to limp out of proceedings.
And, as alluded to above, on Friday, an update on the wellbeing of the youngster has been provided.
As per a statement across Real Sociedad’s website and social media platforms:
‘Orri Óskarsson has an injury to the left soleus muscle, which occured on 19-11-2024, during the Wales-Iceland match. The return to normal activity will depend on the evolution of the injury.’
Óskarsson joins Umar Sadiq and Martín Zubimendi as members of Imanol’s La Real ranks to have suffered injuries during the November international break.
