Real Sociedad were held to a goalless draw in their Copa del Rey semi-final first leg with Mallorca.
Umar Sadiq enjoyed the best chances for Imanol Alguacil's side early in the second half with two efforts that missed the target.
But despite the visitors continuing to dominate possession, they were unable to produce a breakthrough at the Campo de fútbol de Son Moix.
Both teams are set to do battle again in the return fixture at the Reale Arena on 27 February to face either Athletic Club or Atlético de Madrid.
La Real defeated Basque rivals Athletic Club to claim a first Copa for 34 years in the 2021 final, rescheduled from the previous year due to COVID-19.
