Following three consecutive victories, Real Madrid now travel to away from home to take on 20th placed Real Valladolid in match day 21 of La Liga.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side has been in high spirits after a string of convincing performances and will look to continue their surge towards the league title.
Lucas Vazquez returns from a hamstring injury after he was seen training prior to this fixture. He is expected to return to the lineup. Fran García is in line to replace Ferland Mendy, with the Spaniard full-back enjoying some great form lately.
Meanwhile, no other injuries were reported and with David Alaba slowly returning to playing full minutes, Carlo Ancelotti will have some much needed depth in his side which would allow Aurelien Tchouaméni to play in the midfield for the rest season.
Tonight’s match will also be the last of Vinicius Junior’s suspension as the Brazilian will return for the next match day.
His national counterpart, Rodrygo has been in some lethal form lately and has looked devastating on both wings. With Brahim returning to the right wing, Rodrygo will return to the left flank where he has enjoyed more as compared to the right.
The Italian manager was also full of praise for Rodrygo and is delighted with his consistency, by scoring goals or recording assists.
Kylian Mbappe’s form will be on the spotlight yet again with Frenchman finding consistency, having scored 5 goals in the last 4 games.
Real Valladolid on the other hand have endured a tough season, evident by the fact that they sit at the bottom of the table, having scored the joint least amount of goals and conceding the most goals in La Liga.
The home side has recorded just 4 victories – surprisingly Valencia have 3 – and suffered as many as 13 losses.
Raul Moro has been the club’s leading goal scorer with 3 goals in 14 games followed by contributions from Anuar, Kike Perez, Selim Amallah and Mamadou Sylla with 2 goals each.
Defensively they are an extremely vulnerable side and with a Real Madrid attack firing on all cylinders, the Valladolid defence is expected to have a tough night.
Even a win would not be able to take Valladolid out of the relegation zone for now but at least it would give the fans some hope that the team is showing some character.
Real Madrid returned to top of the table last week and will now hope to stay there as long as possible, with their city rivals not far off
