Diego Rossi seems to love a goal in the Leagues Cup, and he had another pair of them against Philadelphia in the semi-final this evening.
The former LAFC man is a man on the mission during the tournament this summer, scoring six goals in his last three games.
The tricky forward kicked off the semi-final clash with the Union with an opportune run at the back-post, popping up in the right place at the right time to connect with a diving header.
While the Union pounced on a bad Columbus giveaway at the back to level the score, Rossi took matters into his own hands in the final 10 minutes of the half to reclaim the Crew's lead with a slick finish.
Rossi now has three braces in four games played at Leagues Cup this summer, a staggering return for the man who seemingly plays second-fiddle to Cucho Hernandez.
With the goal, the Uruguayan also climbed up to the top of the Golden Boot leaderboards for this summer's tournament.
While Rossi's scoring would end there, Hernandez went on to bag the Crew's third and send the MLS Cup champs to the final.
