Tijjani Reijnders spoke to the media ahead of AC Milan’s game against Empoli tonight, sharing his thoughts on what is needed from the Rossoneri. Above all, he sent a message to his teammates.

Milan are in desperate need of three points after a disappointing start to the season domestically, currently nine points behind top four. As always, Reijnders is starting in midfield and he will play an important role for the Rossoneri.

Speaking to DAZN ahead of the game, as transcribed by MilanNews, the Dutchman shared his thoughts and what is needed from Milan. He also discussed his role in midfield, highlighting that it doesn’t matter as long as they all work as a team.

On the game…

“Empoli is a team that plays man-to-man. It will take a dynamic game to get them out of position.”

On his role in the midfield…

“We all have to take responsibility. We all have to work together as a team, the goals we conceded in the Champions League are unacceptable.”

Reijnders has certainly been a key player for Milan this season, though there has been some concern about the playing time. After all, he plays almost every game from start to finish and that isn’t really sustainable, so it remains to be seen if a good solution can be found.
