Real Madrid lost one of their most important players, Kylian Mbappe, for a highly important stretch of the season. The Frenchman, who picked up a muscle injury in the game against Alaves, was unable to play in the Madrid derby last Sunday.

The French forward only got on the pitch in the second half of the game against Lille, and that too because his team needed a goal to at least salvage a draw from that match.

But it is clear that Mbappe is still not at his 100% at the moment, and would need some time to get back to his best. In this regard, there is some good news for the Frenchman as MARCA reports that he has not been named in the squad announced by France for the upcoming international break.

The French side is set to face Israel and Belgium in their two matches in this break. As he has not been called up, Mbappe will get two weeks of time to rest and recover from his injury and return to his optimal shape ahead of a crucial phase of the season for Real Madrid.

Talking to a presser, Didier Deschamps explained that he had talked to the forward before making this decision and that he did not want to take any risks with such an important player.

In addition to Mbappe, the fullback Ferland Mendy has also not been called up by Deschamps for this international break. On the other hand, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, who had both missed the last call-up in September, have been named in the French squad this time.

While he has also only just recovered from an injury, this call-up can end up being beneficial for Camavinga as he can accumulate some minutes to speed up his return to full fitness.
