Rennes continue pursuit of Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra amid Premier League interest | OneFootball

Habib Diarra (21) could be set to leave formative club RC Strasbourg Alsace this summer. A Ligue 1 rival would like to welcome him, Mohamed Toubache-Ter understands.

As reported by L’Équipe last month, Strasbourg are, unlike last summer, not opposed to losing their captain this summer. There will be a financial obligation to sell some high-value assets and so RCSA will not stand in his way in the event of an acceptable offer.

Diarra’s contract with Strasbourg runs until 2028 and so he will not come cheap, especially given that there is Premier League interest, which is bound to drive up the price. As per L’Équipe, Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion are both interested in signing the midfielder during the off-season.

However, there is interest from France, too. Stade Rennais are long-term admirers of Diarra, and according to Toubache-Ter, with the transfer window approaching, the Breton club remain determined to get their man.
