Julien Stéphan was relieved of his duties earlier this week. The arrival of former Olympique de Marseille manager Jorge Sampaoli is imminent, however, he will not be appointed before Stade Rennais’ encounter with Toulouse FC on Sunday.

It is Sébastien Tambouret who will take interim charge, almost certainly just for this match. He has a full squad to pick from and he is set to put faith in the same set of players that let Stéphan down. Arnaud Kalimuendo will lead the line with Jota playing off him. Ludovic Blas and Amine Gouiri will feature out wide, whilst Mikhail Faye and Alidu Seidu will be the centre-back pairing for Rennes.

Leo Ostigard is set for a place on the bench, as is Albert Gronbaek as Rennes look to secure a victory that would give them some breathing room to the relegation play-off spot.
