On a four-match losing run in all competitions, Rennes will be hoping to turn their fortunes around as they travel to the Stade Louis II to face podium-sitters Monaco in Ligue 1 on Saturday afternoon.
L’Équipe understands that Jorge Sampaoli is set to make one change to his side, who were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Brest last time out in the French top flight. Lorenz Assignon is unavailable for the match against the Principality club, and this is set to prompt a formation change from the former Marseille boss. Rennes should operate with a 4-3-3 rather than 3-5-2.
The one change set to be made by Sampaoli is set to be Amine Gouiri, despite being the subject of interest from Marseille, who should operate on the left flank and replace the suspended Assignon.
Brice Samba – Hans Hateboer, Leo Östigard, Christopher Wooh, Adrien Truffet – Azor Matusiwa, Jordan James, Séko Fofana – Ludovic Blas, Arnaud Kalimuendo, Amine Gouiri.
