Rennes reach agreement with Real Salt Lake for the signing of Carlos Andrés Gómez | OneFootball

Rennes are on the verge of signing Colombia international winger Carlos Andrés Gómez (21) after reaching an agreement with Major League Soccer franchise Real Salt Lake, according to a report this Monday from Foot Mercato. Rennes were looking for reinforcements on the wings with Désiré Doué (19) expected to join Ligue 1 rivals Paris Saint-Germain in a €60m deal and Martin Terrier (27) already sold to Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen. The Ligue 1 side were also considering moves for Watford’s Yaser Asprilla (20) and Corinthians’ Wesley Gassova (19).

Rennes are expected to break the €10m mark to lure Gómez from Utah to Brittany. The 21-year-old Colombia international logged thirteen goals and eight assists during his sophomore season with Real Salt Lake. The outlet understands that Gómez will complete his medical this Wednesday. Rennes will host Olympique Lyonnais for the first gameweek of the 2024-2025 Ligue 1 season this Sunday.
