Rennes are pursuing a move for Corinthians winger Wesley (19), according to a report this Sunday from Foot Mercato. The 19-year-old Brazil U20 international is also of interest for Chelsea and West Ham with both Premier League clubs submitting an offer to Corinthians. UEFA Europa League winners Atalanta BC are also monitoring Wesley. Rennes are in the market for a left-sided winger expected to part ways with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich target Désiré Doué (19). The Ligue 1 champions have reportedly submitted a €60m bid to secure the France U20 international currently playing the 2024 Paris Games with Thierry Henry’s France Olympic football team.

To replace the departing Doué, Rennes previously pursued a move for Leeds’ Crysencio Summerville (22). Now it appears that Rennes Sporting director Frederic Massara has intensified efforts to bring Wesley to the Roazhon Park. The outlet adds that Rennes are also facing domestic competition with INEOS-owned OGC Nice and other top-level Ligue 1 teams monitoring Wesley as well. The latter would reportedly favor joining the French top tier as a stepping stone to joining the Premier League in the medium term.
