Barcelona are reported to be eyeing an opportunistic approach for Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah, who is on course to become a free agent at the end of the season.
Salah has continued to produce the goods for Liverpool so far in 2024/25, despite a managerial change and moving into the latter stages of his career at the age of 32, contributing 16 direct goal involvements across 15 appearances in all competitions.
SPORT claims that Salah's name is up for discussion among Barcelona officials again, having previously been a target in 2022. Interest on that occasion failed to materialise into anything more because of Liverpool's asking price and Salah's wage expectations.
Although it is suggested that Nico Williams, who was financially out of reach this past summer, remains the priority target when it comes to bringing in a new wide forward, Salah could soon be available without a transfer fee if he opts not to sign a new deal with Liverpool.

The SPORT report additionally claims that Salah is open to a change of scenery and "likes Barca". But Liverpool are understandably also keen to strike an agreement for him to remain at Anfield. The possibility of another Saudi Pro League also continues to linger, which is likely to ensure Salah has a few different options to choose from as the summer approaches.
The Egypt icon is yet to commit his future one way or another, even addressing that lack of a decision in the wake of scoring the winner against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday: "No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like."
Earlier this week, Liverpool manager Arne Slot compared Salah to all-time greats Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo due to his continued output well into his thirties.
"There is no reason at the moment to think that he is dropping in terms of level," Slot said. "That's not what you see when you look at his numbers or what you see when he plays. I cannot tell you what the future will look like. Cristiano Ronaldo, what age is he at the moment? Messi is still incredible. Incredible."
