Middlesbrough could yet sign Kamil Grosicki and end his West Bromwich Albion nightmare.

Grosicki only linked up with the Baggies 12 months ago, when Slaven Bilic swooped to sign the Polish international from Hull City.

The winger scored once and registered three assists during West Brom’s run-in, winning promotion back into the Premier League.

However, since then, he’s found games limited in the top-flight under both Bilic and then Sam Allardyce.

Three appearances have come in the Premier League, whilst Grosicki also fell short of joining Nottingham Forest back in the summer transfer window.

This month, there’s been no move for Grosicki materialise just yet, despite the fact he’s out of the picture at the Hawthorns.

As per the Northern Echo’s transfer blog, Neil Warnock could well reignite his interest in Grosicki on Deadline Day, with this report stating there’s ‘definitely’ still a chance or the Teessiders making a move.

Quiz: Did each of these 18 ex-Middlesbrough players ever score a goal at the Riverside Stadium?

Warnock’s side currently sit seventh in the Championship table, with a point against Norwich City over the weekend moving them within two points of AFC Bournemouth in sixth.

The Verdict

This would be a good deal for Boro to look to do today.

Of course, they’ve already moved for Yannick Bolasie to bolster their options out wide, but when you look at Grosicki, he’s a different option.

The Polish international would offer really work ethic out wide, as well as a goal threat – his numbers at Hull were outstanding and if he finds anything like that level again, he would be a hit at Boro.

It won’t be a priority today, but if the deal is still there to be done, Warnock will remain interested.
