A night of woeful injuries

It even had moments of misery, as two players were injured and had to be taken off. First came the injury to French defender Jules Kounde, and then Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez had to be taken off at half-time as well and he is now unlikely to feature in the second leg as well.

Barcelona goalkeeper’s interesting interaction

However, another interesting moment popped up after the final whistle. As pointed out by SPORT, stadium cameras picked up a conversation between Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and an Inter Milan assistant coach in the tunnel.

As per information provided within the report, both Szczesny and that particular individual may have known each other from the Polish goalkeeper’s time in the Serie A. In any case, this particular conversation that they were having was a rather animated one.

It seemed as if the 35-year-old Barcelona goalkeeper was talking about the goals that he conceded and the possible errors that led to them. Appearing as an informal meeting between the two, it showed the Polish goalkeeper gesture with his hands as if to showcase what went wrong.

Either way, the real focus of both the goalkeeper and Barcelona will be on the second leg at the San Siro. There are many things that the team will certainly need to work on, and Kounde’s injury will need to be addressed by the coaching staff as well now as they will look to find a suitable replacement option for him.
